Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data Terawatt LLC ("Terawatt", "we", "us", or "our") collect, how we use it, who we share it with, your choices, and the legal rights available to you. It applies to:
- Terawatt Energies website (https://www.terawattenergies.com) and any pages that link to this policy;
- Terawatt web and mobile applications branded either as Terawatt or under an installer's custom branding;
- All visitors, account holders, and end‑customers interacting with our platform worldwide.
This Policy covers visitors worldwide as well as installers and their end‑customers (homeowners) who interact with Terawatt‑powered portals. If local law gives you stronger rights than those described here, we will honor the stronger standard.
Our role under privacy laws
Controller – When we collect data to run and secure our own site, communicate with you, or market our services, we act as a data controller (GDPR) and a business (CPRA).
Processor / Service Provider – When installers collect homeowner information inside their branded workspace, we act exclusively on their instructions and do not use the raw data for our own purposes. We may, however, convert that data into aggregated, fully de‑identified statistics for analytics. Installers remain responsible for their own privacy notices; we simply provide the tools that help them meet those obligations.
Information we collect
Information you or your organization provide
- Name, business name and role
- Email address and phone number
- Login credentials
- Project details
Information we collect automatically
- Device and browser identifiers, IP address and general location (city/state level)
- Pages viewed, buttons clicked, time spent, error messages
- Cookies and similar identifiers (only after you consent)
Optional location data
With your permission, the app can use your device's GPS or browser geolocation once to autofill an address field. You can disable this at any time in your device or browser settings.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, please let us know so we can delete it.
Google Calendar integration (installers and Terawatt staff)
Certain Terawatt users — installer company team members (for example directors, managers, representatives, and technicians) and Terawatt platform staff — may choose to connect their Google Calendar account so Terawatt can schedule customer appointments without double‑booking.
Connecting Google Calendar is optional and initiated only by the user from Account Settings in the Terawatt installer or admin application. Terawatt does not connect a Google Calendar on a user's behalf without that OAuth consent.
Google user data we access
When you connect Google Calendar, Terawatt requests access to your Google Calendar so we can:
- Read existing events on your calendar to determine free/busy availability for booking windows.
- Create calendar events for Terawatt appointments (for example site survey, installation, or consultation), including the appointment title, time, customer address when relevant, and the customer as an attendee so Google can send a calendar invitation.
- Update or delete those Terawatt‑created events when an appointment is rescheduled or cancelled.
- For online consultations, create a Google Meet link associated with the calendar event.
We use this access only to operate Terawatt's scheduling features. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, credit decisions, or sale to data brokers.
Data we store
If you connect Google Calendar, we store:
- The Google account email associated with the connected calendar.
- An encrypted OAuth refresh token so Terawatt can refresh access and continue syncing until you disconnect.
- Identifiers for Terawatt‑created calendar events needed to update or cancel them later.
We do not permanently store the full contents of your personal calendar. Event details retrieved to compute availability are used for that scheduling operation and are not retained as a separate personal calendar archive.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Account Settings ("Unsync Calendar"). Disconnecting deletes the stored refresh token and calendar email from your Terawatt user profile and stops further Calendar API access. You may also revoke Terawatt's access in your Google Account permissions.
Limited use of Google user data
Terawatt's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use your information
- Provide and improve the service – create accounts, save projects, troubleshoot bugs, and build new features.
- Appointment scheduling – when you connect Google Calendar, read availability and create, update, or delete Terawatt appointment events (and Google Meet links for consultations) as described above.
- Security and fraud prevention – maintain audit logs, detect suspicious activity, and protect user accounts.
- Geolocation shortcut – fill in an address when you grant permission.
- Transactional communications – emails or in‑app notifications about project updates, password resets or policy changes.
- Marketing (Terawatt‑branded only) – newsletters or product announcements only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Analytics & benchmarking – we combine usage and project data across the platform to generate aggregated, de‑identified statistics and performance benchmarks. These insights never reveal individual homeowners or allow a reasonable person to single out a specific installer. We commit not to re‑identify or permit others to re‑identify this information.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross‑context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined in US state privacy laws.
Cookies & tracking technologies
- Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect against CSRF attacks.
- Analytics cookies help us understand site performance.
- Advertising cookies measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns. They load only after you click "Accept" on our banner.
You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie Settings link or through your browser controls.
When we share data
- Service providers – secure hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, analytics. All providers are bound by contracts that forbid them to use your data for their own purposes.
- Google – if you connect Google Calendar, we use Google's Calendar and (for consultations) Meet APIs to read availability and create or update appointment events on your Google account. Google processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Installer workspaces – if you enter data in a white‑label portal, the installer who owns that workspace can view and export it.
- Corporate events – business transfers such as a merger or acquisition (we will give prior notice).
- Legal or safety reasons – comply with subpoenas, enforce our terms, or protect users and the public.
We do not disclose raw personal data to advertisers or other third parties for their independent use.
Aggregated insights – we may share or license market reports built from de‑identified data. These reports contain no personal data and cannot be reverse‑engineered to identify an installer or homeowner.
International transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland to a country that has not been deemed "adequate," we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and add supplementary safeguards such as encryption at rest and in transit.
Retention periods
- Account and project records – kept while the account is active plus three years.
- Google Calendar connection credentials – encrypted refresh token and synced calendar email are kept while the calendar remains connected, and are deleted when you unsync or when the account is closed.
- Server access and error logs – 12 months.
- Security audit logs – seven years.
- Marketing opt‑out lists – kept indefinitely so we don't email you again.
We may keep backups longer where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your rights and choices
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your data or restrict its use;
- object to certain processing activities; and
- request a portable copy of your data.
How to exercise your rights
Send an email to privacy@terawattenergies.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. We respond within 30 days or the timeframe required by local law.
Additional rights
California residents – you may also ask to know what personal information we have collected, shared, or disclosed in the past 12 months. Terawatt does not sell personal information.
EU/EEA & UK residents – you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe we are processing your data unlawfully.
How we protect your information
We use industry‑standard safeguards, but no online service is completely secure.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. If we make material changes, we will post a notice in the app or email you at least 15 days before they take effect. Please review this page periodically.
